Check out this video about Retrode, which allows you to access video game cartridges and controllers via a USB interface. It is a textbook example of a hacker-friendly hardware:
This review is quite long (47 minutes), but I wouldn't call it painful. The reviewer is very funny, and has a British accent.
My favorite quote:
"Moving on, is the sticky wicket of price, because unbelievably, you have to pay for it. I know ... it isn't just delivered to your house by a naked woman. Bizarre. Clearly, we elected the wrong government if we're in this sort of bizarre situation."
A big thank you to Stuart Ashens for the lovely video.
It's always nice to have some perspective. Here is a little comparitive video by Kloplop321 showing the Pandora as well as some other digital devices:
Apple iPad
Apple iPhone 3GS
Palm Zire 72s
Dell Axim x30
Motion Computing Tablet M1200
Nintendo DS
For those that are not aware, iControlPad is a portable analog/digital controller designed for use with the iPhone and other mobile devices. To show what it is capable of, look at this video showing the use of the iControlPad with a PC as well as the Pandora Console!
Seeing as there are now 12 videos from the "one vid per day" collection in the original slew of videos post, I figured that I'd start a new thread with the additional videos. Also, these videos are embedded using the iframe tag, so you should be able to watch these videos using HTML5, if you desire.
As an added surprise, recently some pictures were posted of colored Pandora case samples. No word on the actual availabilty of colored Pandora Consoles.
To help satiate the endless appetite of the Pandora pre-orderers for their consoles, EvilDragon has recently released some more videos.
Check them out!

Video 5 (Bluetooth tethering via a Windows Mobile Phone):
Thanks to SteveM, Pandora people now have a smooth running, optimized version of MAME4ALL available for the Pandora Console. It runs great, event though it's technically still in Beta.
Take a look at the footage, courtesy (once again) of EvilDragon:
Some demonstration of the TV Out feature of the Pandora.
Scrolling looks real smoother in reality than in this video - as the original interlaced material had to be converted to progressive for YouTube.
There is some vertical tearing in C64-Emulation because the emulator was running at 60Hz whereas the TV was set to run in 50Hz.
I continue to be very excited to receive my Pandora Console. Keep up the good work, people.
This just in! Talented coder notaz recently announced a program called "Ginge" which allows you to run your old GP2X programs on the Pandora Console, Caanoo, and Wiz. Here is a video showing it off!
notaz intends to enter this app into a coding competition, so it might be a couple months before it is publicly available.
EvilDragon has recently released a video providing an update on the software development side of the Pandora Console. It really shows how much you can accomplish on one of these things!
While on EvilDragon's YouTube Channel, I noticed a review for GamePark Holdings' new device, the Caanoo. Here is a review of that, as well.
As Pandora consoles start reaching the hands of actual consumers, we get the excitement of seeing consumers of the product trying out the product that they have waited so long to receive. Here is an HD video of a Mass Production Pandora, showing the relative size compared to a Nintendo DS, and footage of the handheld in action:
EvilDragon has once again provided a video showing off another Pandora Console feature. This time, he is showing the configuration of the nubs (dual analog controllers) for usage as input devices in the operating system.
This just in via PandoraPress: EvilDragon has released a video showing the new LCD Gamma Manager on the Pandora Console, which allows you to change the LCD display settings to emulate the look/feel of an old TV, etc.
PandoraPress recently announced that EvilDragon released a video on YouTube showing developments that are being made to Wi-Fi internet access using an external USB dongle.
This USB dongle provides an admirable temporary solution for Internet access while the bugs are worked out on the internal Wi-Fi chipset.
The video also includes showing off a new menu system (called MiniMenu), and additional information about the Exaile music player.
Michael Mrozek, better known as EvilDragon, presented a wonderful talk about Open Source handhelds at this year's CeBIT, one of the more prestigious computer and electronics shows in the world. He mentions the humble beginnings of open source handhelds, and the latest developments of consoles such as the Open Pandora Console, which he is co-developing.
Many thanks to fishbong for translating these videos from the original German and putting subtitles into the videos.
